We have not found that essential capability with other packages we evaluated. Alibre has allowed us to create parametrically driven models (with equations) that can be easily resized based on changing a few key Specifying parameters (values such as Cabinet_Width). While we do not have experience with Sketch Up, we have had a little with Rhino. Alibre has allowed us to do designs quite efficiently for quite a broad range of design styles and construction.

We originally purchased Alibre because we were fed up with the limitations of standard cabinet software and the lack of any software that would allow us to design furniture (at least for a reasonable price). I have personally only ever used SketchUp in my own interior design workflow with clients and people often ask me why I chose SketchUp over other software options on the market.
